NMC Group of Hospitals is on the panel of all the major insurance groups in the UAE. The following points would be of use if you are having medical insurance and wish to use it for your treatment:

• Inform the receptionist that you are insured. The original insurance-card will have to be shown especially if the treatment is on credit. If you do not have the card, you will not be deemed as insured with that company and would have to settle the bills through your own mode of payment. This can be waived only if we have specific instructions from your insurance company. NMC has a strict policy of adhering to the identification procedures set by our insurance clients. Please note that you have to inform us about your insurance before taking the treatment. The card will also be asked at all other departments that you go to thereafter.

• Go through your policy terms and conditions so as to know exactly what is covered and what is not, so as to avoid confusion later on. Type of coverage varies from company to company and depends greatly on the type of policy taken by you. Please note that most insurance policies are very specific, e.g., if your policy includes dental coverage, it does not necessarily mean that all forms of dental treatments are covered. Some plans cover only certain types of fillings and extractions; others cover routine check-ups as well. Similarly, many companies do not cover vision testing while many others do. Most insurance companies have a toll-free hotline, which can be used to clear your doubts.

• Almost all policies have a certain amount that has to be settled by you personally. This can either be in the form of a single amount to be paid on your visit, or can be a percentage of the total cost of your treatment.

• When visiting different departments, it is important to have the various copies of the insurance-form that has been given to you by the doctor. This is especially so if you have been referred to our facility by an outside doctor / clinic.

• For those having policies from international insurance companies, please get in touch with us so as to know the procedures or eligibility on a case-to-case basis.

• For those with travel-insurance, we do not give credit solely on seeing the travel-insurance card. Credit for treatment, if so decided, will be given only on receipt of an official letter and will depend on the goodwill and standing of that company.
