Anaesthesia
The primary role of this department is to care for patients before, during and after
surgery. The department administers
anaesthesia to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. The anaesthesia
may be general, regional (epidural), local (nerve block), or a combination.
The anaesthesiologist is responsible for pre-operative assessment, surgical anesthesia and
post operative care of patients. Other activities include acute and post operative pain
management, along with patient safety and improved processes of patient care.
The hospital has state of the art equipment including
invasive monitoring equipment and ventilators to provide intensive care, cardiac
resuscitation, respiratory therapy and pain treatment to critically ill patients.
