Dermatology
This department provides full medical treatment for diseases of skin, hair and nails
through its outpatient and inpatient services. Open seven days a week, over 80 patients
are treated a day by highly qualified dermatologists.Interdepartmental references from
General Medicine, Endocrinology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, General and Plastic Surgery
also helps to manage all aspects of the illness of the patient.
The department further
offers diagnosis and treatment of STD, in addition to clinical assessment by experts.
Routine investigations like KOH exam for fungus, Grams stain, patch testing, Tzanck test
and Skin Smears are performed either in the outpatient department or in the laboratory.
The well equipped laboratory also has facilities to process other special investigations. |

Minor procedures like
Intralesional injections for alopecia areata and some resistant dermatoses, enucleation of
milia and molluscum contagiosan lesions, liquid nitrogen cryosurgery and electrosurgery
for warts, papillomas and some benign growths are performed in the out patient department.
Facilities for Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peeling and a
Phototherapy Chamber for PUVA treatment have been introduced
recently.
