Zari Zardozi - "Essentially Indian. Truly International."

Zari Zardozi - a unique Indian Restaurant concept. Your first impression once you step in is, “This is India!” The ambience is spellbinding. There is no way you can remain unfazed in the presence of the rich interiors. Splashes of gold and amber dominate and dazzle while the traditional Indian tableware vie for your attention with exotic portraits of Indian ‘Maharanis’. This is just the beginning of a journey. Zari Zardozi is an amalgamation of the many facets of India, the traditional and the new or to put it in other words, it is ‘silk and spice’ a reflection of culture, the royal and the popular.

What is Zari Zardozi? For the uninitiated, Zari Zardozi is an intricate embroidery art which flourished in India since medieval times and reached its zenith during the rule of Emperor Akbar. According to Seema Shetty, “The inspiration for the concept is both, the creation of Zari, the gold thread and Zardozi, the painstaking appliqué art of embroidery on silk by master craftsmen.” Elaborating on what makes Zari Zardozi unique, Reema Shetty, “We have blended cuisines and cultures to represent an India that is traditional and timeless. Zari Zardozi is a concept in 3 levels, Zari Restaurant, Z’dozi Lounge and Zardozi Hukka.”

Zari Restaurant serves traditional North Indian cuisine, South Indian cuisine and an interesting blend of both. To experience the variety in the cuisine is a gourmet’s delight. The warmth of the interiors is matched by the personal service offered by a professional staff.

Z’dozi is just what the name suggests, funky, chic and ‘happening’. The Lounge defies definition. Is it the colours or the psychedelic play of light reflected from the pool? Or is it the exotic cocktail mixes? Or is it the music? It’s difficult to put your finger on what exactly it is that makes this place ‘oh so cool’. You will understand what it means to say, “It cannot be explained, only experienced.”

The third level houses the Zardozi Hukka, a refreshing stop in this exotic journey. The décor is inspired by tribal icons such as mirror works from the nomadic lifestyle of the gypsies of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It sports ‘Shatranj’, the game of Chess, played by the Kings of India for your relaxation. Tracing the origin of the Hukka and its journey from India to Egypt, Persia and Arabia, it invites your indulgence. The gastronomic feast continues with ‘Chaat’, lip-smacking spicy snacks that reproduce the inimitable roadside tradition of India.
