NEOPHARMA - Overview
Neopharma, promoted by NMC is Abu Dhabi's first state-of-the-art pharmaceutical plant. The Dhs.90 million (US$ 25million) plant's design is based on the latest modular concept in pharma manufacturing and is fully compliant with international standards.

Strategically allied with multinationals Ranbaxy Global, Biocon, Dr. Reddy's from India, the U.S. Parke - Davis Pfizer, Canada's Apotex and Jamieson; SM Pharmaceuticals, Malaysia and the Swiss Lagap for product licensing and technical know how, Neopharma is living up to expectations of promoting the quality of healthcare environment by manufacturing pharmaceutical products to international standards at affordable prices.

Neopharma's product range covers the wide range of anti-infectives, anti-inflammatory and arthritis, cardiovascular, anti-diabetic, gastrointestinal protectives, drugs for respiratory system, cough expectorants and multivitamin tonics. The plant is now well poised to enter the nutraceutical and OTC segments, besides plans to enter high growth segments such as cardiovascular, neuro-psychiatry and anti-diabetes.

These products are marketed locally in the UAE and GCC markets by the dynamic Neopharma marketing team who are professionals with extensive experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing and Brand Management. The products are being registered in the GCC, with some European and US market leaders to follow. Plans are afoot to increase the quantum of production to meet the export demands from these countries. The land adjacent to the existing plot will be appended to facilitate the expansion of manufacturing facilities.

Neopharma is strongly supported by the ongoing drive of the UAE government to evolve a more conducive healthcare policy that actively encourages indigenous production and entrepreneurship by offering incentives and concessions that include easier registration process, preference in tenders, larger production volumes, distinct price preference and easier market access and acceptance for locally manufactured products, especially in the GCC countries.

The sophisticated infrastructure in Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE in terms of roads, airports, seaports, ready availability of essential utilities and services such as water and electricity, as well as packaging materials, will facilitate the smooth functioning of the unit.
